The Hospital Stay
- Bring a detailed, itemized list of all your current and/or recent medications, including the name of the medication, strength and how often it is given.
- If you use CPAP at home, please bring your mask and connections/hose with you. Do not bring your CPAP machine. If possible, please bring the settings for your CPAP treatment.
- Basic toiletries (comb, toothbrush, etc.) are provided by the hospital, but most people prefer to bring their own. Bailey Medical Center will provide a hospital gown, but you may want to bring your own bathrobe. If you bring your own clothes for your stay, please choose clothes that are easy to put on and take off and because of your incision, be mindful that your clothes may become stained by blood or other body fluids.
- You may have one (1) adult overnight guest in the rooms on the bariatric care unit or medical surgical floor. Children and adolescent guests are welcome to visit; however, no overnight arrangements are permitted. No guests are allowed to stay overnight in the Intensive Care Unit.
- All surgical weight-loss patients are seen by the dietician for follow-up during their hospital stay and prior to discharge.
