Do you know your BMI? To calculate your personal Body Mass Index, enter the following information:
20 or less = very low body fat, usually seen in athletes or those with serious illness
20 to 25 = acceptable normal range
26 to 29 = overweight
30 to 34 = obese, increased risk of co-morbidities such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis and some cancers
35 to 39 = severely obese, significantly increased risk for serious health problems
40 and above = morbid obesity, increased significant risk of serious and possible life threatening health problems. Decreased life expectancy.
